The Nix

Another thing to the display project in school. This is the Nix, or "man in the river". He comes from Nordic/Scandinavian mythology (I don't know if he exists elswhere too), and he can be found in rivers and other places with moving water. He plays his violin (or sometimes flute) to put a spell on passing women, and lure them in to the water to drown them. I guess these stories was told to prevent people to go to close to dangerous currents and such, and i really like it. I whish these stories were still told. 
There actually is a Swedish/Finnish manga about the nix called Oblivion High, and it's pretty good. It talks about how the Japanese culture is seen by the western world (mostly in scandianvia of course), and it's really iteresting to read about. I don't know if it's been translated to other languages though.
